Overnight Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. shredded cabbage
    1/4 c. chopped purple onion
    3/4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. white vinegar
    3/4 c. water
    2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Combine cabbage and purple onion in a large bowl.
    Combine sugar and remaining ingredients, stirring until sugar dissolves. Pour over cabbage mixture; toss gently.
    Cover with a slotted spoon.
