Ingredients

2 eggs, separated
2/3 c. sugar
1 qt. milk
1 1/4 to 1 1/2 c. saltine crackers, coarsely broken
3/4 c. coconut
1 tsp. vanilla
3 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation

Beat egg yolks and sugar together.
Pour into saucepan and heat gradually.
Add milk, stirring constantly.
Add crackers and coconut; cook until thickened.
Pour into baking dish.
Add 3 tablespoons sugar to egg whites.
Beat until stiff.
Spread over pudding, then brown under broiler.
