Chile-Cheese Spread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. milk
    2 c. (8 oz.) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
    1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chiles, drained
    2 Tbsp. butter, softened
    1/8 tsp. powder
Preparation
    Scald milk; pour over cheese.
    Beat at medium speed of an electric mixer until mixture is almost smooth.
    Add remaining ingredients and beat 1 minute.
    Serve spread with assorted crackers.
