Shrimp Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    4 large onions, peeled and sliced
    1 c. hot water
    6 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. seasoned pepper
    6 c. milk
    2 c. shredded pasteurized process sharp cheese (8 oz.)
    2 lb. shrimp, shelled and deveined
    3 Tbsp. chopped parsley for garnish
Preparation
    Begin 1 hour ahead.
    In 5-quart Dutch oven over medium heat, in hot butter or margarine, cook onions until tender.
    Add water, potatoes, salt and seasoned pepper.
    Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender; do not drain.
