Old Fashioned Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
2 c. dark brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/4 c. cocoa
2 tsp. instant coffee
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
confectioners sugar

Preparation

In large mixer bowl, cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs and vanilla; blend well.
Sift together flour, cocoa, coffee and baking soda.
Add alternately with buttermilk to sugar mixture.
