Cheesy Crab And Shrimp Strata - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 oz. canned mushroom pieces, drained
1/4 c. celery, chopped
2 Tbsp. pimientos, chopped
2 Tbsp. green onion, chopped
2 Tbsp. green pepper, chopped
2 tsp. mustard
1/2 c. Miracle Whip salad dressing
6 slices whole wheat bread
1 c. crab, chopped
1 c. shrimp, chopped
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. cayenne
4 oz. sharp process American cheese slices
5 eggs, beaten
2 1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. salt
Paprika for garnish
Preparation

Lightly saute mushrooms and vegetables. Combine the mustard and dressing in small bowl. Lightly spread one side of each piece of bread with the mixture. Cut slices into 2-inch cubes. Arrange only half of bread cubes, mustard side up, in greased 7 1/2 by 11 1/2 inch baking dish. Combine the crab, shrimp and sauteed vegetables. Mix all these in bowl and season with garlic powder and cayenne. Sprinkle mixture over bread in prepared dish and top with cheese slices. Place remaining bread cubes with mustard side down on top of cheese. Blend the beaten eggs, milk and salt together. Pour this egg mixture over bread. Sprinkle with paprika. Cover and chill 4 to 24 hours in refrigerator.
