Meta'S Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter (softened at room temperature)
    3 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    3 c. flour, sifted with 1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. sour cream
    6 eggs (at room temperature)
    1/2 tsp. lemon extract
Preparation
    Thoroughly cream butter and sugar.
    Add extracts.
    Add eggs, one at a time.
    Beat well.
    On low speed, stir in the sifted flour and soda mixture.
    Add sour cream and stir to combine.
    Using a tube pan or three loaf pans, cut wax paper to fit the bottom of pan or pans.
    Spray pans well with cooking oil and line with paper.
    Place the cake in the middle of the oven with a pan of hot water on the bottom rack of oven, which should be heated to 300\u00b0. Bake until cake tests done, about 1 1/2 hours or a little longer, about 1 hour and 15 minutes for loaf pans.
