Hot Lettuce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. bacon, fried and crumbled
    1 small onion, chopped
    1 head lettuce, torn
    1/3 c. vinegar
    2/3 c. water
    dash of salt
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 egg, beaten
Preparation
    Place bacon, onion and lettuce in a bowl.
    Place vinegar and water in a medium size saucepan.
    Add salt, sugar and egg.
    Cook until thickened, stirring often.
    Pour this over lettuce mixture. Mix well and cover until lettuce is wilted.
    Serve immediately.
