Caramel Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or shortening
    3 c. plain flour
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    dash of salt
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Cream the butter and sugar until fluffy.
    Add flavorings and eggs.
    Sift flour, salt and baking powder.
    Add to batter alternately with milk, beating until smooth.
    Pour into greased and floured 9-inch layer pans (2).
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until done.
