Picadillo Cubano - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    3/4 lb. ground pork
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 c. sherry
    1/2 c. olive oil
    2 garlic cloves, minced
    1 onion
    1 green pepper
    1/4 c. capers
    1/2 c. pitted olives
    1 bay leaf
    1 can tomato paste
    1/2 c. raisins
    1/2 c. almonds, blanched
    dash of oregano and cumin
Preparation
    Mix meats with salt and pepper.
    Add 1/2 cup sherry.
    Let stand for 2 hours.
    Saute in oil: garlic, onion, pepper, capers and olives.
    Add meat and remaining ingredients.
    Cook 1 hour over low heat.
    Remove from heat.
    Add remaining 1/2 cup sherry.
    Let stand 5 minutes.
    Serves 6.
    Good over rice.
