Cookie Jar Gingersnaps - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. ground ginger
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/4 c. molasses
Preparation
    Sift flour, ginger, soda, cinnamon and salt.
    Set aside.
    Cream shortening and sugar (adding sugar gradually).
    Add egg and molasses to creamed mixture and beat.
    Then add sifted dry ingredients to mixture.
    Form teaspoonfuls of dough into small balls and and roll in sugar to cover the outside surface.
    Place on ungreased pan, 2 inches apart.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes, or until tops are slightly rounded, crackly and light brown. Remove from sheet, cool completely on wire rack and store in airtight container.
    Recipe may be doubled.
