Tomato Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 ripe tomatoes (3 lb.)
    3 c. sugar
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. water
    juice of 1 lemon
    grated rind of 1 lemon
Preparation
    Skin tomatoes by scalding them in boiling water.
    Mix sugars, water, lemon juice and rind.
    Boil for 15 minutes or until syrup is thick.
    Add tomatoes and cook until tomatoes are clear (220\u00b0), about 50 minutes; skim.
    Pour into sterilized jars and seal.
