Easy Dill Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

cucumbers
1 tsp. dill seed
1 to 2 cloves garlic, sliced
1 qt. vinegar
2 c. water
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. pickling salt
Preparation

In bottom of pint jar, put dill seed and cloves garlic, sliced. Add small cucumbers or large ones quartered lengthwise.
Fill jar with syrup made of vinegar, water, sugar and pickling salt boiled until sugar is dissolved.
Put on lids and set on stove in pan of hot water.
Heat 5 minutes after water comes to boil.
Remove jars and tighten bands.
Save extra syrup for next batch.
A larger amount of syrup may be made ahead and stored in cupboard.
