Beef Pilaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. beef stew meat
    1 large onion, cut up
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    2 tsp. garlic powder
    1 tsp. oregano
    1 small can tomato paste (6 oz.)
    1 c. Uncle Ben's rice
    3 ribs celery, cut up
Preparation
    Cut beef in small pieces.
    Put in 5-quart kettle with onion, celery and seasonings.
    Cover with water; bring to a boil and stir to mix well.
    Reduce heat to a simmer.
    Cook until meat is tender, then add tomato paste and stir; bring to a boil.
    Add about 6 cups water; let come to a boil.
    Add rice and cook until rice is done, about 1/2 hour.
