Tea-Cake Cookies - cooking recipe

2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
2/3 c. softened shortening
1/3 c. buttermilk
1/4 tsp. lemon extract
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0. Sift together flour, soda and baking powder; set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, eggs and shortening; beat until fluffy. Gradually add flour and buttermilk. Beat on high speed for 1 minute. Add both extracts; blend well. Drop by teaspoons onto lightly greased sheet and bake 15 to 18 minutes. Remove from pan and cool flat on wire rack. Makes about 4 dozen.
