Ham Beans - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. navy beans
1/2 c. onions, chopped
1 meaty ham bone
3 c. water
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

Soak beans in water to cover overnight.
Rinse and put into crock-pot or other pan along with other ingredients.
Celery and carrots may be added, if desired.
Simmer 6 to 8 hours in a crock-pot on medium or for a shorter length of time on the stove. When beans are soft, they are done.
Serve with chopped raw onions and cornbread.
