Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box German chocolate cake mix
    1 (6 or 12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
    1 (14 or 16 oz.) pkg. caramels
    2/3 c. evaporated milk
    3/4 c. melted butter
    chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Melt caramels in double boiler with 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Stir frequently.
