Toffee Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1 c. brown sugar, packed
    1 egg yolk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. chocolate chips
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Grease baking pan (13 x 9-inch).
    Mix thoroughly the butter, sugar, egg yolk and vanilla.
    Blend in flour and salt.
    Press evenly in bottom of pan.
    Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350\u00b0 or until very light brown.
    (Crust will be soft.)
    Remove from oven. Immediately distribute chocolate chips on crust.
    When chocolate is soft, spread evenly.
    Sprinkle with nuts.
    While warm, cut into bars about 2 x 1 1/2-inches.
    Makes 32 cookies.
