Seven Layer Garden Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1/2 c. chopped red onion
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1/2 c. chopped celery (if desired)
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen green peas, cooked and drained
    1/2 c. mayonnaise
    1 1/2 c. sour cream
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    6 oz. cheese, shredded
    bacon pieces
Preparation
    Fill large bowl half full with broken up lettuce.
    Add in layers: onion, green pepper, celery and peas.
    Mix together mayonnaise and sour cream.
    Spread over layer of peas.
    Do not mix!
    Sprinkle sugar and pepper over dressing and cover top with shredded cheese.
    Sprinkle bacon bits on top of cheese.
    Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 8 hours.
    Keeps well for several days.
