Carriage Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

4 c. flour
2 sticks melted oleo
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 c. white sugar
1 Tbsp. soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
3 c. water
1 lb. raisins
2 c. nuts

Preparation

Boil water and raisins for 5 minutes and let cool.
Add nuts to flour, white sugar and oleo and add dry ingredients to flour. Add
raisns and
flour a
little
at a
time.
Bake 1 1/2 hours at 325\u00b0 in greased angel food cake pan.
Mix confectioners sugar and orange juice,
enough
to drip down on sides and stripes on top.
