Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, cut in bits
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1/4 to 1/2 c. chopped celery
    2 or 3 tomatoes, chopped
    1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, cooked and drained
    2 c. mayonnaise
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    5 to 6 boiled eggs, sliced
    Parmesan cheese
    Bac*Os (sprinkled on top)
Preparation
    Mix mayonnaise and sugar together.
    Layer, in dish, in order listed.
