Fiesta Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 Spanish onions
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. vinegar
    3/4 c. white sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
    3 tsp. celery seed
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Slice onions and soak 3 hours in this brine.
    Stir often. Drain thoroughly.
    Combine with mayonnaise, celery seed, salt and pepper.
    This makes a great salad.
    Keeps well.
