Low-Fat Bran Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
    2 c. bran cereal
    1 1/4 c. milk (2% or 1%)
    1/3 c. packed brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 c. applesauce
Preparation
    Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon in large bowl.
    Mix cereal, milk and sugar in another bowl; let stand 5 minutes.
    Stir in egg and applesauce.
    Stir into flour mixture until moistened (batter will be lumpy).
    Spoon into greased muffin pan (each 2/3 full).
    Bake 18 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
    Makes 12.
