Creole Sauce(This Is The Best.) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 onion, chopped fine
    2 or 3 garlic cloves, minced
    1 green bell pepper, chopped and seeded
    4 c. tomatoes, chopped or 2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    1/2 tsp. sweet basil
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    1 1/2 tsp. molasses (optional)
    1/4 tsp. pepper (optional)
    1/2 tsp. chili powder
    pinch of cayenne pepper
    1/2 tsp. sea salt
    1 c. leftover mushroom gravy or fresh mushrooms, chopped
    1/4 c. tamari soy sauce
    1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Saute onion, garlic and green pepper lightly in vegetable or olive oil in a deep skillet or wok.
    Add the remaining ingredients and cook for 15 minutes.
    Sauce may be simmered longer but should cover it while doing so.
    Serve over stuffed pepper, noodles, eggplant, rice or seafood.
    Yields 5 cups.
