Never Fail Caramel Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. white sugar
    1 c. Carnation milk
    1/4 lb. oleo
    2 tsp. water
Preparation
    Put 2 cups sugar and the milk in a boiler to cook.
    Brown the other 1/2 cup sugar in a separate container.
    When it is light brown, add the water; then add the first mixture.
    Cook until it forms a soft ball.
    Take from heat and add oleo.
    Beat until creamy.
