Ginger Creams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 small egg
    1/2 c. molasses
    1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1/2 c. hot water
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Mix first four ingredients together thoroughly.
    Stir in soda dissolved in hot water.
    Mix together flour, salt, ginger, nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon.
    Add to first mixture, mixing thoroughly. Chill dough.
    Drop by teaspoon 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet.
    Bake in 400\u00b0 oven 7 to 8 minutes.
    Ice while still warm.
