Meatball Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 egg
    1 Tbsp. minced onion
    1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
    1 Tbsp. salad oil
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
    1 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. basil (dried sweet)
    4 small carrots
    3 medium potatoes
    1 onion, chopped
    1 stalk celery, sliced
Preparation
    Mix ground beef with 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, pepper, egg, minced onion and soft bread crumbs.
    Form into ball (size of a walnut). Brown in hot oil.
    Remove meatballs from skillet.
    Pour off all fat except 3 tablespoons.
    Transfer fat to Dutch oven.
