Cucumber Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 average-sized cucumbers
    1 large onion
    2 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Wash well the cucumbers.
    Do not peel.
    Trim ends.
    Cut cucumbers into thin slices.
    Place into a bowl, having a fitted cover.
    Peel 1 large onion and cut into very thin vertical slices. Mix with cucumbers.
    Add granulated sugar and vinegar.
    Cover bowl tightly.
    Shake.
    Refrigerate several hours or overnight before serving.
    The cucumbers will stay fresh for a long period of time.
