Plain Cake With Fudge Candy Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. flour (self-rising)
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. milk
    2 unbeaten eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Sift flour with sugar into large bowl.
    Add shortening and 3/4 cup of the milk.
    Beat for 2 minutes on low speed, then beat at medium speed.
    Add remaining milk, eggs and vanilla.
    Beat 2 minutes.
    Pour into 3 (8-inch) pans, well-greased and lightly floured.
    Bake in a medium oven until golden brown.
