Caramel Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 pt. heavy whipping cream
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Brown 1/2 cup sugar in a heavy saucepan.
    Add cream.
    When the mixture comes to a boil, add the remaining sugar.
    Stir with a wooden spoon constantly for 15 minutes.
    Add flavor and butter and cook another 5 minutes.
