Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, torn bite-size
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1/2 c. diced celery
    1 onion, thin sliced
    1 pkg. frozen peas, defrosted
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded
    6 slices bacon, fried and crumbled
Preparation
    In large salad bowl, layer ingredients in order given.
    Do not mix.
    Cover bowl tightly with plastic wrap.
    Refrigerate 24 hours. Gently toss just before serving, mixing well.
    Yields 8 servings.
