Low-Fat Lentil Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. lentils
    1 c. shredded carrots
    1 large onion, finely chopped
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    1 Tbsp. tamari soy sauce
    4 c. defatted chicken broth
    2 c. cooked brown rice
    Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Place all ingredients except rice and Parmesan in large saucepan.
    Bring to boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
    Add more broth if desired.
    Serve over rice and sprinkle with Parmesan.
