Boiled Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 eggs
    1 gal. sweet milk
    1 tsp. salt
    2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Put milk in a double boiler.
    Beat eggs and sugar until mixed, then add hot milk, a cup at a time, and beat.
    Pour all back into rest of hot milk and cook until it coats the spoon. Add vanilla and chill.
