Country Style Pea Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. dried split peas
10 c. water
2 lb. ham hocks
1 onion, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

Combine all ingredients in a pot.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for one hour or until peas are soft.
Remove ham hocks.
Put the pea mixture through a sieve or in a blender for a few minutes.
Cook over low heat until heated.
Makes 6 cups.
