Mother'S Original Rich Shortcake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
4 Tbsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/3 c. shortening
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 c. milk
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients; cut in shortening.
Add combined milk and egg.
Turn out on slightly floured surface.
Divide dough in half.
Pat out to fit 8-inch round pans.
Bake in 450\u00b0 oven for 15 to 18 minutes.
Fill with any fruit.
