Doughnut Treasures - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 slices thin-sliced bread
    1/4 c. preserves
    3/4 c. pancake mix
    1/2 c. milk
    1 egg
Preparation
    Trim crusts.
    Spread each of 4 slices with 1 tablespoon preserves.\tTop
    with
    remaining
    4 slices of bread.
    Cut each sandwich into
    quarters.
    Combine pancake mix, milk and egg in bowl.
    Stir
    lightly
    until
    batter
    is
    smooth.
    Dip sandwich quarters in batter.
    Fry
    in
    hot deep fat until browned for 1 to 2 minutes.\tSprinkle with powdered sugar.
