Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 lb. sliced orange slice candy
    8 oz. pkg. pitted dates, chopped
    2 c. nuts, chopped
    1 can flaked coconut
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Sift flour and salt together.
    Combine fruit with 1/2 cup flour mixture.
    Cream butter and sugar until light.
    Add eggs, 1 at a time.
    Beat well after each addition.
    Combine soda and buttermilk.
    Add to combined mixture with remaining flour mixture. Blend well after each addition.
    Stir in candy; mix well.
    Bake in a greased and floured tube pan at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
