Applesauce Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 c. water
    2 c. applesauce
    2 c. sugar
    3 c. flour
    1 c. cooking oil
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped walnuts
    1 c. raisins
    1/2 c. chopped dates
Preparation
    Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
    Dissolve baking soda in warm water; set aside.
    In large bowl, combine applesauce, sugar, flour, oil, spices and salt.
    Add baking soda mixture. Fold in nuts and fruit.
    Spread batter in preheated pan and bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
    Test with tester at 1 hour.
