Cherokee Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1/8 tsp. garlic powder
    1/8 tsp. thyme
    1/8 tsp. oregano
    small bay leaf
    2 to 3 slices cheese, shredded
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 can cut up tomatoes
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1 c. cooked rice
    6 olives, sliced (optional)
Preparation
    Brown meat.
    Add onion and cook until tender.
    Add rest of ingredients in order given, except cheese.
    Bring to boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
    Spoon into greased baking dish, top with cheese and bake until cheese is melted.
    Garnish with olives.
