Ingredients

1 cake yeast, dissolved in 1 Tbsp. warm water
2 tsp. sugar
6 c. flour
1 lb. Crisco
1 tsp. salt
6 egg yolks, beaten
1 c. canned milk
powdered sugar
1 lb. walnuts
2 c. sugar
6 stiffly beaten egg whites
fruit pie filling or jam
Preparation

Combine yeast, sugar, Crisco, eggs, milk and flour.
Let stand overnight.
Sprinkle powdered sugar on board and roll out a portion of the dough to 1/8-inch thick.
Cut into 2-inch squares. Fill with nut filling or fruit filling.
Roll up and pinch ends. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
