Vince Early'S Greens - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 bundles of young collards*
    4 Tbsp. chopped onion
    1 ham steak
    6 strips bacon
    1 small pkg. frozen okra
    2 qt. water
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Fry bacon, retaining grease. Add cleaned, chopped collards to water in a large pot. Add bacon grease, salt and pepper, bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for about 2 hours or until greens are tender. Add ham steak and okra and cook an additional 30 minutes. Crumble bacon on top to serve.
