Apricot Meringue Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 1/2 c. scalded sweet milk
    1/2 c. sugar
    3 egg yolks, beaten
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. cooked, drained apricots
Preparation
    Sift together cornstarch and sugar.
    Add beaten egg yolks and blend thoroughly.
    Add scalded milk slowly.
    Cook in top of double boiler, stirring constantly, until thick.
    Remove from heat.
    Add salt and vanilla.
    Fold in 1/2 cup apricots which have been mashed through a sieve.
    Cool and pour into cooked shell.
    Top with the following meringue.
