Ritz Cracker Salad - cooking recipe
Ingredients

80 Ritz crackers, crushed in plastic bag with rolling pin
6 egg whites
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. granulated sugar
8 oz. cream cheese, softened in 3 oz. cherry Jell-O and 1 1/2 c. hot water
1 can cherries
Preparation

Beat egg whites until stiff.
Fold in cracker crumbs, baking powder and sugar.
Bake in buttered 9 x 12-inch pan at 250\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes, until crusty but not brown.
In hot water (on stove), add cream cheese and cherry Jell-O.
Blend, then add cherries.
Nuts are optional.
Spread over meringue layer.
Chill or freeze.
