Poke Sallet - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 gal young poke shoots and leaves
    1 c. water
    1 c. corn meal
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. bacon grease
Preparation
    Cook poke 5 minutes in the 1 cup of water. Drain. Beat the egg.
    Dip poke in the egg and roll in the meal. Fry in the bacon grease until brown.
