Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. butter
3 c. sugar (save 1/2 c.)
3 c. all-purpose flour (save 1/3 c.)
8 eggs, separated
1 lb. chopped nuts
1 lb. chopped candied cherries
1 lb. chopped candied pineapple
1/2 tsp. mace
1/3 c. whiskey
Preparation

Beat
butter and sugar until smooth.
Beat in egg yolks. Mix mace
with flour and add flour, whiskey, alternately.
Mix nuts and
fruit
in
1/3 cup flour then add to other mix.
Beat egg whites stiff;
add
1/2
cup sugar.
Fold into cake batter. Bake in tube
pan
at
325\u00b0
for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours.
Makes 2 tube cakes.
