Prairie Raisin Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. seedless raisins
    2 c. hot water
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. chopped nuts
    2 eggs (if necessary)
Preparation
    Boil together
    for 10 minutes the raisins, water, sugar and shortening;
    allow\tto cool.
    Add flour and other ingredients, except
    nuts.
    Add\t2
    eggs, if needed.
    Add nuts.\tTurn into a greased baking pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
