Creole Pecan Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1 small can Carnation milk
    4 Tbsp. butter
    2 1/2 c. pecans
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cook sugar and evaporated milk together slowly in heavy saucepan until a little of the mixture dropped from spoon into a cup of cold water will form soft ball (240\u00b0 on candy thermometer). Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
    Add butter and vanilla and beat for a few minutes, then add pecans.
    Before candy hardens, drop by spoonfuls onto buttered waxed paper.
