Divinity Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    2 egg whites
    2/3 c. water
    1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/8 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cook sugar, syrup, salt and water until a small amount forms a soft ball when tested in cold water.
    Take out 1/2 cup of this mixture and cook the rest until it forms a hard ball when tried in cold water.
    Pour the 1/2 cup of syrup slowly over the beaten egg whites.
    Beat constantly.
    Continue beating.
    Add the remains of the syrup.
    Add nuts and vanilla; keep beating until mixture thickens and becomes heavy.
