Batter Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. corn meal
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 1/2 c. sweet milk
2 eggs, beaten
1 Tbsp. melted shortening
Preparation

Sift together meal, sugar, salt and baking powder.
Add boiling water, stirring to prevent lumps.
Beat eggs.
Add milk to them and add to meal mixture.
Pour into baking dish in which shortening has been melted.
Bake in preheated oven at 425\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
After removing from the oven, run knife around edge of baking dish.
Yield:
1 loaf.
