Applesauce Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. shortening
3 eggs, beaten
1 qt. applesauce
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
4 c. chopped nuts
1 pt. candied fruits
1 c. sugar
4 tsp. soda
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. raisins

Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs.
Dissolve soda in applesauce, then add to fruit mixture.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Add slowly and beat.
Add nuts, raisins and mixed fruits.
Bake in large tube pan on 250\u00b0 for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Cut up to 300\u00b0 and bake for 30 minutes.
